Job Description
To ensure the clinic is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with infection control guidelines. The Cleaner plays a vital role in supporting a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean all areas of the clinic including consultation rooms, waiting areas, reception, offices, toilets, kitchen/staff areas, and corridors.
- Disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g. door handles, light switches, phones).
- Refill soap dispensers, toilet paper, paper towels, and other supplies.
- Empty bins and dispose of general waste appropriately.
- Use appropriate cleaning materials and equipment safely and in line with COSHH regulations.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or hazards to your Manager.
- Maintain cleaning records and checklists accurately.
- Ensure confidentiality and respect for the privacy of all patients and staff.
Essential:
- Previous experience in a cleaning role (preferably in a healthcare or similar environment).
- Understanding of infection control and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good attention to detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Basic understanding of spoken and written English.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations.
- Experience working in a medical or clinical setting.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Uniform and full training will be provided.
