Job Overview - Registered Manager
We are seeking a committed, confident, and child-focused Registered Manager to lead our 2-bed EBD home. This role requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed care, behaviour support, and relationship-based practice.
You will be responsible for ensuring excellent standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and leadership, while creating a calm, structured, and nurturing home environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and day-to-day management of a 2-bed EBD children’s home
- Ensure compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Lead safeguarding practice and ensure robust risk management
- Embed a therapeutic, trauma-informed and restorative approach
- Make safe, well-evidenced matching and admission decisions
- Support in Recruitment, supervise, coach, and develop staff
- Maintain high standards of care planning, recording, and outcomes monitoring
- Work effectively with local authorities, education providers, and external professionals
- Prepare for and manage Ofsted inspections with the aim of Good or Outstanding
- Promote education, emotional regulation, and preparation for independence
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Essential
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards)
- Experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a children’s residential setting
- Strong experience working with EBD / SEMH presentations
- Sound knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and Quality Standards
- Confident decision-maker with strong leadership skills
- Commitment to therapeutic, relationship-based care
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Experience managing or working in small (2–3 bed) EBD homes
- restraint or similar behaviour management training
- Experience improving inspection outcomes
- Background in trauma-informed or restorative practice
- A full UK driving licence
