Production Operative

J G Pears (Newark) Ltd is a well established rendering company that takes animal by products and transforms them into sustainable, high quality products including bio fuels and pet food ingredients.
We are expanding our Production team and are looking to recruit 3 Production Operatives to join us on a permanent basis.
This is a hands on role where you will play an important part in keeping our production process running safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Shift Pattern:
- 4 on 4 off, working alternating days and nights, 12 hours per shift
Rewards
- £14.91 per hour, averaging 43 hours per week, with overtime paid at time and a quarter. Basic annual earnings of approximately £33,339, with the opportunity to earn more through overtime.

Responsibilities
As a Production Operative, you’ll play a key role in keeping our site operating safely and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include:
- To ensure a smooth operation of the processing line in line with rules and procedures
- Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed as required by the shift supervisor, storing this correctly
- Pre-start up checks and handovers
- Operating machinery
- Checking temperature, colour of meal and other quality checks
- SCADA operator- use the system to monitor real-time data from sensors and equipment, recording data where necessary
- Ensure the production areas on site are maintained and in a clean and tidy state
- Ensure the products are produced to the highest possible standard using the equipment available
- Forklift driving
Requirements
- Experience operating production machinery or working in a manufacturing environment, desirable
- Forklift licence or experience is desirable,full training provided
- Loading shovel and shunter licence is desirable, full training provided
- English ESOL Entry 3/Level 1
- Good understanding of Health and Safety
- Team player
- Excellent attendance records
*Due to location own transport is essential.
