Job Overview
We are seeking motivated Grounds Maintenance Operatives and Team Leaders to join our dedicated team. These roles involve maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are safe, attractive, and well-kept. Duties
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, pruning, planting, and weed control
- Operate mechanical equipment including excavators, irrigation systems, and power tools
- Use hand tools for detailed gardening and horticultural work
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functioning
- Assist with construction projects related to outdoor space development and improvements
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to meet health and safety standards
- Support team members in completing large-scale landscaping projects efficiently
- Monitor environmental conditions to ensure plant health and proper irrigation scheduling
Qualifications
- Experience or knowledge in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools, excavators, and irrigation systems
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in groundskeeping tasks
- Ability to perform physical labour outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Construction or maintenance experience is advantageous but not essential for entry-level applicants
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in horticulture or landscaping are beneficial but not mandatory
- Driving licence desirable
Your usual hours of work during the season (March to October) will be Monday to Friday 6.30am till 4.00pm (8.5 hours per day start and finish time may be adjusted), and Monday to Friday 8.00am till 4.00pm (7 hours) out of season.
