Balufab Ltd is a growing steel fabrication and architectural metalwork manufacturer based near Market Drayton. We design, manufacture, powder coat and install a wide range of products including staircases, structural steelwork, balconies, balustrading, gates, railings and bespoke fabrications throughout the UK.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Site Worker / Steel Erector to join our installation team.
This is a hands-on site-based role focused on the safe and efficient installation of structural steelwork and architectural metalwork across commercial and residential projects throughout the UK. The successful candidate will be practical, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship while maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing structural steelwork, staircases, balconies, balustrades, gates, railings and bespoke metalwork.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and site installation plans.
- Carrying out on-site fitting, alignment and final adjustments.
- Using power tools and site equipment safely and effectively.
- Assisting with loading, unloading and transporting materials and equipment.
- Working safely at height using appropriate access equipment where required.
- Carrying out minor fabrication and modifications on site where necessary.
- Ensuring installations meet Balufab's quality standards and customer expectations.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Completing site paperwork, reporting progress and communicating effectively with the Workshop Manager and Project Manager.
- Representing Balufab professionally whilst working on customer sites.
- Supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Previous experience in steel erection, architectural metalwork installation or construction site work.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of safe working practices on construction sites.
- Competent using hand and power tools.
- Physically fit with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
Desirable
- CSCS Card.
- IPAF Licence.
- PASMA Qualification.
- CPCS or NPORS Telehandler/Forklift qualification.
- MEWP experience.
- Abrasive Wheels certification.
- Site welding or fabrication experience.
- First Aid at Work qualification.

Pay: £12.95-£17.00 per hour
