The Job:
As we rapidly grow and expand the business, we are excited to add more experienced HGV Class 2 Skip Drivers to our team at our Chelmsford depot. You’ll be responsible for delivering, exchanging, and collecting skips across our home in Essex and beyond. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team.
Pay & Hours:
- Basic rate: £15.50 per hour
- Driving standards bonus: £50 per week (~£16.50/hour total)
- Overtime rate: £23.25 per hour
Working hours:
- Monday to Friday: 06:30 – 17:00 (48.75 hours/week)
- Alternate Saturdays (March–October): 06:30 – 12:30 (paid at overtime rate)
Driver/Employee Referral Program:
- Existing employees who refer other drivers/employees from across Essex to join our group, and we pay £250.00 to the referring existing employee - paid 3 months after the new candidate has joined Dunmow Group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and collect skips safely across the Essex region and beyond
- Ensure loads are safe, secure, level, and correctly sheeted
- Complete job sheets accurately (times, weights, signatures)
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report all defects
- Provide professional and friendly customer service
Requirements:
- Valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence (max 3 points preferred)
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
- Physically fit for a hands-on role
- Experience in skips, waste, or RoRo (desirable)
