Ledwood are looking to recruit a HR / IR Manager to join our team at Point of Ayr, North Wales
Your Role will be:
Responsible for managing all human resources and industrial relations activities on site, ensuring effective workforce planning, compliance with labour legislation, and maintaining positive relationships between the workforce, management, and external stakeholders.
Your new position will involve:

Liaise with the Project team to determine current and future labour requirements (direct and indirect).

Review, screen, and vet CVs received in line with the companies recruitment and competency processes.

Communicate with Head Office HR on reasons for rejection of candidates for future reference in case project requirements change.

Support mobilisation and demobilisation of workforce in line with project schedules and employment law.

Act as the primary point of contact for all HR and IR-related matters on site.

Establish and maintain effective communication channels with workforce representatives.

Conduct regular (weekly) meetings with workforce representatives to address concerns.

Lead and support dispute resolution processes in collaboration with site management.

Promote a positive employee relations environment to minimise disputes and disruptions.

Manage and resolve wage-related queries in coordination with onsite admin/timekeeper team using the approved Wage Query process. Escalate to the Head Office Payroll if required.
- Monitor employee attendance and absenteeism.

Apply tools such as the Bradford Factor to identify trends and support interventions.

Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, disciplinary actions, and employment documentation in line with Company processes
- Manage and administer disciplinary procedures in line with company policies and employment legislation.

Support line managers in performance management and employee conduct issues.
-
Maintain and update a comprehensive training matrix for all site personnel, using the Companies Personnel system UKG.
- Identify training requirements in line with project needs and compliance standards.

Coordinate delivery of training and ensure records are accurately maintained.

Support workforce competency development initiatives.

Deliver Industrial Relations (IR) induction following the standard site HSE induction.

Ensure all employees understand site rules, behavioural expectations, and grievance procedures.

Ensure all welfare facilities meet legal requirements and company standards.
-
Monitor compliance with employment contracts and applicable site agreements.
-
Ensure adherence to employment laws, working time regulations, and statutory requirements.
-
Support audits and inspections related to HR and welfare compliance.
-
Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and reports.
-
Provide regular updates to project management and Head Office HR relating to employees.
- Track key indicators such as absenteeism, turnover, and disciplinary cases.

Work closely with project management, planning, and HSE teams.
-
Coordinate with Head Office HR for policy alignment and support.
-
Support subcontractor workforce where applicable.
-
Identify opportunities to improve HR and IR processes on site.
-
Implement best practices from previous projects where applicable.
-
Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.

The HR / IR Manager operates within company policies and procedures and escalates significant risks, disputes, or legal concerns to senior management and Head Office HR as required.

Previous experience working within the Oil/Gas/Nuclear Industry in an on-site construction environment within a HR or IR role.

Valid CCNSG Safety Passport

Project Specifics
The position will be based onsite, starting ASAP for approx 18-24 months. This role will report into the Project Manager and overseen by the Companies HR Manager.
Working Hours: 10.5 Hours Monday to Thursday, 7 hours Friday and 6 Hours Saturday (Working hours may change to suit the needs of the project).
Rate of Pay: Will be discussed with each applicant
Allowances: Accommodation Allowance is payable per night worked for any candidates that live over 40 miles from site. Travel Time and Rail Fare payment is also payable once per month during the designated site long weekend. (This allowance is only available on a PAYE basis)
