Non-Ferrous Bronze Foundry Manager
Teignbridge Propellers is seeking an experienced, hands-on Foundry Manager to lead all aspects of its UK non-ferrous bronze foundry operation, including its people, processes, quality, productivity and delivery performance.
Teignbridge is a world-class manufacturer of high-quality marine propulsion components for the global marine industry, with non-ferrous foundries in Newton Abbot, Devon, and Gujarat, India.
The position will be based primarily at our Newton Abbot facility. Both foundries use sand-casting processes and induction melting and employ approximately 12 people at each location. The Teignbridge Group employs approximately 145 people worldwide.
Occasional travel to our foundry in India may be required to support the sharing of technical knowledge, process improvements and best practice across the Group.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading, managing and developing the UK foundry team
- Managing bronze melting, moulding and casting processes
- Improving productivity and operational efficiency
- Maintaining consistently high casting quality
- Reducing defects, scrap and rework
- Ensuring production targets and on-time delivery requirements are achieved
- Promoting safe working practices and compliance with all health and safety requirements
- Developing and implementing process improvements
- Building a strong culture of teamwork and continuous improvement
- Working closely with production, quality, engineering and senior management
- Supporting collaboration and the sharing of best practice between the UK and Indian foundries
The successful applicant will:
- Have substantial practical experience in a non-ferrous or comparable foundry environment
- Possess a strong understanding of sand casting, moulding and metal-melting processes
- Be a capable and confident people manager
- Be self-motivated, practical and willing to take a hands-on approach
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and continuous-improvement skills
- Maintain positive staff relations while improving safety, quality and productivity
- Work effectively as part of the wider management team
- Be willing to undertake occasional international travel
A qualification in metallurgy, foundry technology, casting, materials science or a related discipline would be advantageous. However, this is not essential where the applicant has strong and relevant practical experience.
