We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Motor Vehicle Technician to join our team. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and technical manuals to identify vehicle issues
- Perform repairs and maintenance on motor vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
- Repair or replace faulty components using welding techniques when necessary
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to facilitate accurate repairs
- Assist in the assembly of vehicle parts during repair or refurbishment processes
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
- Perform heavy lifting as required when handling large or heavy vehicle parts
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle serviced
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance procedures clearly
Requirements
- Proven experience in automotive repair or a related field is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
- Experience with vehicle assembly and maintenance procedures
- Ability to perform equipment repair and troubleshooting efficiently
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems and mechanical components
- Physical strength to undertake heavy lifting tasks safely
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
