Duties
- Plan and prepare balanced, appetizing meals tailored to residents’ dietary requirements and preferences
- Ensure all food is cooked to high standards of quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations
- Manage food inventory, order supplies as needed, and minimize waste
- Serve meals efficiently and courteously, ensuring residents are comfortable and satisfied
- Follow all health and safety protocols during food preparation and service
- Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special diets or nutritional plans
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous experience working in a care home, healthcare facility, or restaurant setting is highly desirable
- Familiarity with meal planning, portion control, and dietary restrictions
- Strong skills in food presentation and serving techniques
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
