Job Introduction
Are you an experienced recruitment and workforce planning professional looking to play a key role in the delivery of a major international sporting event?
Sodexo Live! is looking for a Staffing & Recruitment Manager on a 12month Fixed Term Contract to take ownership of the people plan behind a large and complex event operation in Ireland. Working alongside our Major Events team, you will help create an engaged, well-prepared and service-focused workforce capable of delivering an exceptional guest experience.
This fixed-term opportunity offers the flexibility to be based remotely in either the UK or Ireland. The role will involve regular travel to Ireland for recruitment activity, planning meetings and site preparation. You will also be required to work onsite throughout the event build, live operation and breakdown periods, with business travel and accommodation provided.
We are looking for someone who can bring together strong recruitment knowledge, commercial awareness and operational confidence. You will be comfortable working independently, collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and adapting quickly as event requirements develop.
With responsibility for a significant workforce and staffing budget, this is an opportunity to contribute to an internationally recognised event while further developing your experience within large-scale event operations.
What You’ll Do:
-
Create and manage the workforce plan, translating operational requirements into staffing numbers, skills, schedules and recruitment timelines.
-
Lead recruitment activity in Ireland, building relationships with universities, colleges, employment services and local partners.
-
Oversee recruitment and onboarding of approximately 700 event employees, including 70–100 managers and chefs.
-
Ensure full compliance with UK and Irish employment, right-to-work and onboarding legislation and processes.
-
Agree staffing ratios with operational leaders across hospitality, retail, culinary, management and back-of-house teams.
-
Manage and control a £1.5m labour budget plus associated travel, accommodation, uniform and staffing costs.
-
Coordinate end-to-end workforce logistics including accommodation, transport, uniforms, parking and onsite deployment.
-
Manage onboarding, training, attendance and employee communications using Humanforce and Mapal, ensuring a smooth employee experience.
What You Bring:
-
Knowledge and understanding of UK and Irish recruitment and employment legislation
-
Comfortable working as part of a team and adaptable to working alone, remotely
-
Experience of working in the event industry
-
Experience working in a staffing function and using a workforce management system
-
Motivated and proactive, confidently able to manage workload and different tasks simultaneously
-
A flexible approach to working hours
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
Confident in the use of MS Office, especially Excel along with other computer programmes
