We pride ourselves on our 'Customer First' approach, and to support this, we are looking for a Transport Planner to join our team in Seaham. This is dual role where you will also be required to assist with route cover and collecting vehicles from inspections and other duties that require a Class 1 HGV licence.
Role Profile
- Daily planning of routes for c 50 vehicles – covering the deliveries across the UK
- Planning around 1100 delivery drops a day with collections
- Planning to weight, cube and time
- Using PTV routing application - building routes through the afternoon with customer orders
- Liaising with and allocating work to a predominantly subcontractor base
- Operational query handling and working with customer service teams to resolve issues
Experience
- Class 1 HGV Licence
- Previous Planning experience ideally with a delivery route planning application
- Good geographical knowledge of the north of England
- Work well under pressure, part of a wider team of planners covering all sites
- Positive person with good communication and query resolution skills
- Good IT skills and ability to adapt to new routing systems
- Excel knowledge
