Job Summary
Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applicants who require any kind of sponsorship.
We are looking for 2 experienced, dependable Healthcare Assistants to support a gentleman with complex physical care needs, in his own home in the Norbury / SW16 area. He lives with his family in a large well maintained house with parking space for care staff. He is quadriplegic, has full mental capacity and is an active participant in his own care. Also, he has slow, quiet speech and can take longer to communicate, so patience is needed when speaking with him.
We are specifically looking for people who live locally to Norbury. This is a role where reliability and punctuality are essential, so a short, dependable commute matters. If you live a long way away, this role is unlikely to be right for you.
This role is only suitable for someone who can genuinely commit. Our client depends on a small, reliable team and the same trusted faces each day. We need someone who will honour their shifts, turn up on time, and stay for the long term.
You would work as the second carer alongside our lead daytime carer, helping to deliver safe, dignified, person-centred care including:
- Personal care and continence care
- Moving and handling using a ceiling hoist
- Assisting with a daily physiotherapy / passive-movement programme
- Support with eating and drinking
- General day-to-day support to keep our client safe, comfortable and well cared for
Hours
- 5 hours per day (12.30pm - 5.30pm) Wednesday - Sunday
- There is a strong possibility of these hours increasing in the near future, subject to funding, so there is real scope to grow into a larger role
Essential - Please only apply if you meet the below:
- Living locally to Norbury with a short, reliable commute
- A minimum of 2 year's paid care experience (this is not a role for newcomers to care)
- A reliable, committed approach with a solid attendance record, this role is not suitable for anyone unable to commit consistently
- Confident, high-quality personal care skills
- A calm, patient and respectful manner
- Good team working skills
- Experience with moving and handling / hoisting
- A current enhanced DBS
- The right to work in the UK
