About the Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, calm and secure environment throughout the night. You'll provide reassurance to our young people, respond appropriately to any situations that arise and ensure the home remains a safe and supportive place while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Working closely with the wider team, you'll help ensure a smooth transition between day and night shifts while contributing to positive outcomes for every child in our care.
Your Responsibilities
- Monitor the safety, wellbeing and welfare of young people throughout the night.
- Complete regular welfare checks and maintain accurate records.
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents or emergencies.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and established routines.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance whenever needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean and secure home environment.
- Complete daily records and handovers to ensure continuity of care.
- Work in line with safeguarding procedures, company policies and Ofsted standards.
About You
We're looking for someone who is caring, resilient and committed to making a positive difference.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working with children and young people, ideally within residential childcare or with those who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (preferred).
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification (preferred).
- A calm, professional and dependable approach.
- The ability to work independently while remaining vigilant and proactive.
- Excellent communication, observation and record-keeping skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve positive outcomes.
- A full UK driving licence (desirable).
