Salary: Up to £12,592 (pro rata) plus sleep-in payments

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Retirement Village team as a Retirement Village Concierge at Cathedral Park, Hereford. Cathedral Park is a brand new-build Retirement Village, comprising 80 x 1 and 2 bed apartments for over 55s. Cathedral Park also offers 3 x commercial units within the Village (a shop, salon and cafe) which are leased externally.
This is a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of residents at Cathedral Park. The Concierge will foster a welcoming environment for residents and visitors, support tenancy sustainment, and contribute to the smooth running of the Village, while maintaining high standards of professionalism and service.
What could you be doing?
The role involves working flexibly to support activities and other initiatives within the Village, assisting with the set-up, delivery and clear-up as requested. It includes reactive cleaning of communal areas (e.g. spillages that create a slip risk), ensuring that health and safety, compliance, and risk management are always adhered to.
As a front-line, customer-facing role, excellent communication skills are essential. This includes providing practical and preventative tenancy-related support, signposting to specialist services, and responding to emergencies.
The role will be predominantly solo working, with the exception of handover time, team meetings and occasional collaboration with Activities team, so you must be a confident lone worker who can prioritise tasks.
The hours for this role are 17.5 per week. This includes sleep-ins, which are paid additionally at £55 per night, and requires flexible working on a 3 week rolling rota, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. A typical shift will be an evening shift, followed by a sleep-in and a one-hour handover the next morning.
What are somethings that we need from you?
- An awareness of working with vulnerable Adults would be desirable.
- Knowledge of TEC alarm systems and Fire Alarm Systems, such as Le Grand and Appello would be preferred
- Great interpersonal skills and used to communicating with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience of working in a customer-facing role in a Housing organisation or with older people in a community/retirement housing.
- Keen to deliver high standards with an ability to look to improve services too.
- Confidence using digital devices, ICT software and systems.
- Comfortable with lone-working, whilst also working as part of a wider team.
- Due to the travel to offices and other facilities, a driving licence and use of your own vehicle or alternative means of getting to the required locations is essential. You will also need to be based in Herefordshire.
- An Enhanced DBS check is also required for this role.
