Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and eager Apprentice Joiner / Hammer Hand to join our dynamic construction team. This entry-level role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop practical skills in carpentry, joinery, and general construction work. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience assisting with fabrication, assembly, and installation tasks across various projects. Duties
- Assist skilled joiners with fabrication and assembly of timber and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Support the installation of structures such as roofing, framing, and interior fixtures on-site.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks safely to transport materials around the worksite.
- Participate in construction painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and other trades as directed to broaden your skills.
- Use hand tools including saws, chisels, hammers, drills, and screwdrivers to complete assigned tasks accurately.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all activities to ensure a secure working environment.
- Support team members with general site cleanup and preparation to maintain an organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Enthusiasm for learning carpentry, joinery, and construction trades with a proactive attitude.
- Basic understanding of hand tools and power tools used in building environments.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces if required.
- Strong attention to safety procedures and willingness to follow instructions closely.
- Prior experience or knowledge in fabrication, roofing, masonry, plumbing or electrical work is a plus but not essential.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license or reliable transportation is preferred for site access.
