About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and proactive Support Worker to join our team within the HMO supported accommodation sector. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands the complexities of shared living settings, and is committed to helping vulnerable adults maintain stable, safe, and independent lives.
You will play a key role in supporting residents with day‑to‑day needs, ensuring property standards are upheld, and maintaining a positive, respectful environment within the home.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Support
- Provide day‑to‑day support to residents, promoting independence, wellbeing, and positive routines.
- Conduct regular welfare checks and record outcomes accurately.
- Assist residents in accessing external services such as healthcare, benefits, education, and community support.
- Support residents with budgeting, life skills, and tenancy-related responsibilities.
- Manage low‑level behavioural issues and de-escalate conflicts professionally.
Property & Compliance
- Carry out regular property checks to ensure the HMO remains safe, clean, and compliant.
- Report maintenance issues promptly and follow up to ensure completion.
- Ensure all health & safety standards are met, including fire safety, cleanliness, and safeguarding protocols.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and incident reports in line with company and regulatory requirements.
Safeguarding & Risk Management
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns immediately in line with policy.
- Monitor resident behaviour and escalate risks appropriately.
- Support the enforcement of house rules and tenancy agreements.
Communication & Teamwork
- Work collaboratively with management, external agencies, and other professionals.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, and supervision as required.
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality at all times.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Experience working in supported accommodation, HMOs, social care, or a similar environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage challenging situations.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of safeguarding, risk management, and professional boundaries.
