Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in a care home ,.The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine passion for caring for others and possess the skills necessary to promote independence, safety, and well-being. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Support patients with medication administration according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and preferences.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities and behaviour management strategies to enhance mental well-being.
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments.
- Offer emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation.
- Assist with light household chores, including cleaning and laundry, to maintain a safe living environment.
- Support families and other healthcare professionals by maintaining accurate records of care provided.
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, ensuring their safety during transit.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations using first aid skills when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia, Alzheimer’s, hospice, and senior care.
- Relevant qualifications such as caregiving certificates or first aid training are advantageous.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers.
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage behavioural challenges effectively.
- Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to providing person-centred care.
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends if required.
- Basic cooking skills for meal preparation tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
