Job Summary
The FREC 3 Ambulance Make Ready Operative and PTS Staff is responsible for preparing ambulance vehicles to ensure they are clean, safe, and fully equipped for service. This role involves maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation within the ambulance fleet, supporting the efficient operation of emergency services. The operative will work closely with medical staff and drivers to facilitate smooth and prompt responses to emergencies. A valid driving licence and previous janitorial or customer service experience are advantageous for this position. Candidates with blue light driving license will be prioritised for the role. Overall, this role is a mixture of PTS and VMRO role.
Duties
- Clean and disinfect ambulance interiors thoroughly, adhering to health and safety protocols
- Restock medical supplies, equipment, and consumables in accordance with operational standards
- Conduct routine checks on vehicle cleanliness and readiness before dispatch
- Assist with vehicle movement and positioning within designated areas as required
- Maintain a high standard of organisation within storage areas and vehicle compartments
- Support the team by providing excellent customer service to colleagues and external partners
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to management
Requirements
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record
- Previous experience in janitorial work or similar cleaning roles is desirable
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Physically fit, capable of performing cleaning duties that require standing, bending, and lifting moderate loads
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends if necessary
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
