Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dynamic Orthodontic practice. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in delivering exceptional dental services. This position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for oral health.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment room, including sterilising instruments and ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Take patient medical histories and record vital signs accurately.
- Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and answer any questions they may have.
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and following up on appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the practice.
Qualifications
- Qualified Dental Nurse with a recognised qualification (e.g., NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing) Preferred.
- Registration with the General Dental Council (GDC) is essential.
- Previous experience in a dental practice is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanour.
- A genuine interest in promoting oral health and patient well-being.
