Machine Operative & Gang Supervisor

Working Hours: 7:00am – 4:00pm, with overtime available
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and committed Machine Operative & Gang Supervisor to join our team on the Sizewell project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operative who is confident working with machinery and has the ability to support and supervise a small team on site.
The successful candidate will play an important role in helping coordinate daily activities, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently, and supporting the wider team to maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and productivity. A valid and relevant CSCS card and ticket for operating the forklift and telehandler is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate an Avant forklift/loader and telehandler in accordance with relevant training and certification.
- Supervise and support gang members on site.
- Help coordinate daily work activities and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Promote a positive attitude towards health, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Provide direction and support to team members during daily operations.
- Demonstrate reliability, responsibility, and a strong work ethic.
- Communicate effectively with site management and colleagues.
- Take responsibility for maintaining high standards of work and supporting the wider team.
- Continue to develop skills and qualifications relevant to the role.
Training & Development
The successful candidate will be supported with relevant training and development, which may include:
- Completing SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme), where applicable to the role.
- Working towards relevant qualifications and continued professional development.
Progress and development will be reviewed regularly, with opportunities to take on increased responsibility within the role based on performance, attitude, commitment, and experience.
Pay & Benefits
- £200 per day starting rate.
- 15% overtime uplift for work after 4:00pm.
- 30% overtime uplift for work after 5:00pm.

What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience operating machinery and working on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Has experience with, or is willing to train towards operating, an Avant forklift/loader and telehandler.
- Is committed to personal development and gaining further qualifications.
- Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Can demonstrate reliability, commitment, and professionalism.
- Has the confidence and ability to supervise and support a small gang.
- Is able to work effectively as part of a team and support others.
- Communicates well with colleagues and site management.
- Is willing to use their own mobile phone for work-related communication and access to company systems.
