Priory Hospital Nelson House is looking to recruit a nurse to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours per week. Located in Gosport, Hampshire, Priory Hospital Nelson House is a rehabilitation service which offers both level 1 and level 2 care, supporting males presenting with mental health conditions and complex needs, who may also have behaviours that challenge and substance misuse issues.
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, supporting with care requirements, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.
- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
- Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
- Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.

The candidate is a Qualified Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN) with active NMC registration, if you are an RGN we would require you to have some experience of working in a mental health setting. You may have completed a preceptorship programme and gained 6–12 months of post-registration experience. You will possess a solid understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, supported by evidence of ongoing continuing professional development. They demonstrate a positive attitude, with a strong commitment to change, improvement, and quality in practice, while also showing the ability to develop and apply flexible, innovative approaches to care. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, they bring at least six months of experience working within mental health or learning disabilities care environments, further strengthened by continued professional growth in their field.
