Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths/English Tutor to support students in developing their academic skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping learners achieve their full potential. This role offers an opportunity to work with students of various ages and abilities, including those requiring special education support. The tutor will deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual needs, fostering confidence and a love for learning.
Duties
- Deliver personalised tutoring sessions in Maths and English, adapting methods to suit each student’s learning style and level
- Prepare lesson plans and educational materials that align with curriculum standards
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to students and parents or guardians
- Support students with special educational needs by implementing tailored strategies
- Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that motivates students to participate actively
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and lesson content
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, or guardians to discuss student development and areas for improvement
- Stay updated on current teaching techniques and educational resources relevant to Maths and English
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching Maths and English at various levels
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining concepts clearly and effectively
- Experience working with children and an understanding of their developmental needs
- Knowledge of special education strategies to support diverse learning requirements
- Organised with the ability to plan engaging lessons tailored to individual learners’ needs
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for education and student success
