Shift Pattern: 10:30pm - 10:30am
Average: 3 waking night shifts per week

We're looking for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our teams in Cheshunt and Tottenham. This is a role where being calm, observant and dependable really matters. During the night, you'll provide reassurance, maintain a safe environment and be there when a young person needs support.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll help ensure the home remains safe, calm and secure throughout the night.
You'll be responsible for providing reassurance when needed, responding appropriately to incidents and maintaining continuity of care between the night and day teams.
Your role will include:
- Carrying out regular welfare checks and monitoring young people's safety and wellbeing
- Providing emotional support, reassurance and guidance when required
- Responding calmly and professionally to incidents using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches
- Following safeguarding procedures, behaviour support plans and individual risk assessments
- Completing accurate overnight records, incident reports and other documentation
- Carrying out light household duties to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming home
- Supporting morning routines where appropriate
- Providing thorough handovers to the day team
- Taking part in training, supervision and team meetings
About You
You don't need to be the loudest person in the room. For this role, we're looking for someone who can be calm when things aren't calm.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience working with children or young people, preferably in residential childcare or a similar environment
- The ability to remain composed and professional during challenging situations
- Strong communication, observation and record-keeping skills
- An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries
- A genuine commitment to providing high-quality, child-centred care
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards one, is desirable
- A full UK driving licence is desirable
