Buyer/Senior Buyer
KDH Projects are a multi-disciplinary construction company working within the food and beverage industry. KDH Projects are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our team at our Potters Bar office.
The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing materials, equipment and services required to support our projects and engineering teams, ensuring materials are delivered on time, within budget and in accordance with project requirements.
Some of the duties include:
- Raising and processing purchase orders using Sage.
- Sourcing materials, equipment and subcontract services from approved suppliers.
- Obtaining quotations and negotiating prices, delivery schedules and terms where appropriate.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering materials as required.
- Liaising with Project Managers, Engineers and other departments to ensure project requirements are met.
- Expediting outstanding orders and resolving any delivery issues.
- Checking supplier order acknowledgements and invoices for accuracy.
- Maintaining accurate purchasing records and supplier information within Sage.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing efficiencies.
- Assisting with supplier performance reviews and maintaining the approved supplier database.
- Supporting the Purchasing Manager and wider business with procurement activities as required.
- Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with company procedures and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a purchasing or buying role.
- Experience using Sage Accounts.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience within the construction, engineering, refrigeration or building services industry would be advantageous.

Salary: Competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Pay: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
