Trainee Client & Projects Coordinator
Location: Kirkby-in-Furness, Office Based
Salary: £27,768 - £30,000 depending on experience, full time
We're looking for someone sharp and ambitious to join Burlington Stone sales team as a Trainee Client & Projects Coordinator. This newly created role offers a genuine path into specification and account management work as you learn the business.
Burlington Stone is one of the UK’s leading natural stone manufacturers, supplying roofing slate, walling stone and architectural stone products across the UK and internationally. With a heritage dating back over 175 years, we’re known for producing high-quality Cumbrian slate and work on a wide range of projects from private homes and heritage restorations through to major architectural and commercial developments.
This is a role brings genuine long-term potential. You'll start by learning how the business works: how projects come in, how we keep track of them, and how we support the wider team. As you build confidence, progression into specification and account management is available for the right person.
No experience in construction is needed. We'll train you fully. What matters most is that you're organised, sharp, and ready to build a long and meaningful career.
What you'll be doing
- Learning to spot new building projects, using tools we'll train you on (Barbour ABI and planning portals)
- Keeping our project and customer records up to date and accurate
- Helping answer enquiries from architects, contractors and customers
- Arranging samples and information for architects and design teams
- Supporting the wider team as new projects come in
- Helping keep our marketing materials and case studies up to date
What we're looking for
- Sharp, organised and good with detail
- Comfortable talking to people, on the phone and in person
- Confident using a computer
- Keen to learn and take on more responsibility over time
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career, not just a short-term job
Nice to have, but not required
- Experience using a CRM or database system
- An interest in construction, architecture or design
- A driving licence (useful given the countryside location)
Where this can lead
Most people who start in this role move into specification and account management work as they build experience. Within a few years, with the right attitude, this can become a senior client-facing role, working directly with architects and major projects across the UK.

Pay: £27,768.00-£30,000.00 per year
