PURPOSE
To provide strategic and operational leadership of Supply Chain and Inventory Planning across a diverse portfolio of Facilities Management (FM) clients, ensuring the right products and services are available at the right time, at the right cost and with the appropriate level of supply chain resilience.
The role will manage a broad and complex range of products, categories and supply requirements supporting FM operations, balancing customer service, availability, inventory investment, supplier performance, operational efficiency and commercial return.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver Business & Commercial Objectives
- Take accountability for Supply Chain service delivery across TVS SCS clients, including availability, backorders, inventory levels, product range performance and supplier service.
- Ensure client KPIs and contractual service requirements are consistently achieved while mitigating the commercial and operational impact to TVS.
- Manage supply chain performance with a clear focus on working capital efficiency, cost-to-serve, profitability and risk reduction.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to reduce inventory, improve stock turns, reduce excess and obsolete stock and improve overall inventory productivity.
- Create, record and communicate team and client performance against agreed financial, operational and service targets. Provide regular performance reporting.
- Ensure supplier issues affecting service, cost, quality or operational performance are proactively managed and resolved.
- Follow the SRM process for measuring and escalating supplier performance and drive continuous improvement through suppliers.
- Support commercial negotiations and supplier discussions where Supply Chain expertise and data are required.
- Act as a senior Supply Chain partner to TVS clients, with particular focus on the requirements and commercial drivers of the Facilities Management sector.
- Develop a strong understanding of client operating models, service requirements, contract commitments, asset environments and end-user needs to ensure Supply Chain solutions support successful contract delivery.
- Ensure Supply Chain strategies support FM requirements across planned and reactive maintenance, facilities operations, engineering, technical services and associated product requirements, where applicable.
- Manage critical and business-essential products ensuring availability and implementing contingency strategies to protect client operations and service delivery
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, develop and inspire high-performing Supply Chain teams, driving accountability, engagement, commercial focus and alignment to client and business objectives.
- Build organisational capability through coaching, performance management, succession planning and the development of future leaders to support business growth.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, standardisation and customer focus, working closely with Supply Chain, Commercial, Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT and client-facing teams.
- Maintain effective communication and stakeholder engagement through regular performance reviews, 1-2-1s and business updates, ensuring teams remain informed, motivated and focused on delivering results.
Process, Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the effective delivery of the Supply Chain function, ensuring robust, consistent and scalable processes are established and followed.
- Establish and maintain effective Supply Chain governance, controls, KPIs and reporting across the client portfolio.
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitalisation and improved use of ERP and Supply Chain systems.
- Drive a Right First Time (RFT) culture, delivering operational excellence and reducing avoidable cost and service failures.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Build strong working relationships with senior client stakeholders, suppliers and internal business functions.
- Influence and challenge stakeholders constructively to ensure decisions support both client requirements and TVS commercial objectives.
- Lead and support relevant client, supplier and internal governance meetings.
- Escalate and resolve issues quickly where supply, availability, quality, cost or service performance is at risk.
- Develop strategic supplier relationships that support innovation, resilience, cost reduction and service improvement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree qualified, or equivalent experience, in Procurement, Supply Chain, Inventory Management or a related discipline, with proven leadership experience in Supply Chain, Procurement or Inventory Planning environments.
- Strong understanding of Facilities Management, engineering, maintenance, logistics and outsourced service operations, with knowledge of end-to-end supply chain principles.
- Experience managing and optimising complex product portfolios, categories, specifications and supply requirements, supported by robust commercial and data analysis. Experience in product portfolio management in the FM Sector desirable.
- Commercially astute, with a proven track record of delivering cost savings, working capital improvements and measurable business value.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, replenishment planning, supplier performance management and demand planning.
- Experience supporting new business opportunities, bids, tenders, contract mobilisation and supply chain solution design.
- Excellent supplier management, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive business outcomes.
- Highly analytical and results-driven, with advanced Excel and ERP system skills, strong project management and continuous improvement capability, combined with resilience, strategic thinking and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel

- Improved product availability, reduced backorders and minimised service failures across client operations.
- Delivery of inventory optimisation initiatives, including reduced working capital, improved inventory productivity and lower levels of excess, obsolete and slow-moving stock.
- Achievement of agreed cost savings, commercial benefits and increased value and profitability for both TVS and its clients.
- Improved supplier performance, supply chain resilience and effective management of the product range to meet operational and customer requirements.
