Main Purpose
To care for and support the development of a group of children assigned to you through implementing the agreed curriculum responding to the children’s interests. Govanhill Nursery is a Care Inspectorate registered service.
Main Duties
- Implementing the curriculum as directed by the Childcare Services Manager and Team Leader. Accordingly, with Education Scotland CfE. GIRFEC framework, UNCRC , Quality Indicators – Care Inspectorate for services.
- Setting up play area’s and ensuring nursery equipment and resources are kept in good working order.
- Undertaking daily risk assessments duties and reporting any issues/ concerns to management/team leader in all areas within the setting.
- Draw up monthly plan taking into consideration the children’s interests.
- Delivering activities and recording observations- Example – focus child.
- Assessing children’s development, reporting any concerns for referrals to management.
- Informing parents/carers of their child’s progress, development, and achievements.
- Observe Govanhill nursery procedures and nursery policies.
- Contribute ideas for learning activities, participating in weekly and monthly staff meetings.
- Participating in fundraising and parental involvement events and activities.
- Contribute to the planning children’s activities.
- Working with others – Local council partnerships, other agencies and professionals.
- Any other duties as reasonably required – cleaning areas rotas and setting up rotas, outdoor activities rota, lunch and snack rotas.
