- Operations & Administration: Manage staff rotas, attendance, recruitment, performance reviews, and general nursery logistics effectively.
- Observations & Records: Oversee accurate record-keeping, tracking children’s progress through careful Montessori observation and statutory EYFS assessments.
- Ethos & Inclusion: Actively champion Casa Montessori’s core values of inclusivity, diversity, respect, and global citizenship.
Qualifications
- Montessori Credential: A recognized Montessori qualification (AMI, MCI, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Early Years Qualification: Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare (Level 5, BA in Early Years, or Early Years Teacher Status is highly preferred).
- Maths & English: Level 2 Maths qualification in accordance with the EYFS statutory framework.
- Safeguarding: Up-to-date Level 2/3 Safeguarding/Child Protection training, with knowledge of the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), or willingness to obtain prior to starting.
- First Aid: Valid Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- DBS: An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Experience & Skills
- Proven Leadership: Strong management experience within a nursery, ideally within a Montessori or international educational setting.
- Pedagogical Knowledge: A deep understanding of early childhood development, authentic Montessori practices, and how to support bilingual/multilingual learners.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English. Fluency or proficiency in an additional language is highly advantageous to support our multilingual community.
- Interpersonal Skills: Cultural sensitivity and the ability to connect deeply with children, staff, and parents from diverse backgrounds.
- Logistics: Excellent organisational skills. A valid driving licence is desirable to support operational logistics if required.
