Artisan Baker – Levain Bakehouse

The role will be a minimum 2 days pers week, including a least 1 Saturday/Sunday shift per week. You need to be able to get to the bakery for 5am on an early shift. Nearest train is Brentwood and 10-15 min walk.
We’re looking for a Skilled artisan Baker who’s as passionate about sourdough and viennoiserie as we are. The role will require you to be competent and comfortable managing 1-2 morning bakes solo (when onboarding/training is complete) as well as working in a small baking team.
What You’ll Bring
- Genuine passion for pastry and sourdough, with ideally proven skills in fermentation, laminated doughs, tarts, creams, and custards.
- Excellent time management.
- Comfort with early starts (no earlier than 5am) and the physical side of baking.
- A willing attitude to work under the instruction and guidance of our head baker.
- Clear communication skills and familiarity with tools like WhatsApp to stay connected with the team.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, dedicated team
What You’ll Do
- Mix, shape, and bake a range of artisan breads, croissants, and pastries.
- Laminate and handcraft beautiful viennoiserie.
- Maintain impeccable food hygiene and kitchen safety practices.
- Oversee stock levels and help manage inventory reporting.
- Work closely with our front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and happy customers.
- Keeping the bakery clean, organised, and food-safe at all times.
