We are seeking an experienced Senior Technologist to join our R&D team. The role is within the Functional Technology team, part of the Glazing Technology group, which supports the wider business aims to improve our environment through the development of innovative new products for both architectural and automotive markets and improving our existing processes. Areas of interest may include printable materials, the assessment of material properties, integrating electrically functional components, and our glazing as part of vehicle systems or the built environment.
Key responsibilities are:

Manage technology development projects, ensuring delivery against agreed objectives, timelines, and budgets.

Apply scientific and technical expertise to develop innovative glazing products and processes.

Conduct hands-on experimental work to support all stages of the product development cycle.

Analyse technical data and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Collaborate with global R&D teams and cross-functional partners, including Manufacturing, Procurement and Quality.

Support the transfer and implementation of new products and technologies into manufacturing operations.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing products, processes, and sustainability initiatives.
Projects are delivered through a structured R&D stage-gate process, often involving collaboration with global R&D teams and cross-functional partners, including Procurement, Manufacturing and Quality. We expect you to develop the knowledge and experience to enable you to lead R&D projects in the Functional Products technology area. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your expertise within a product development environment as part of a global organisation, working on technically challenging and commercially impactful projects.
What are we looking for?

Ability to learn quickly and act independently, taking personal responsibility to deliver results.

Excellent communication skills, preferably with experience working across multi-disciplinary and international teams.

Demonstrated ability to lead projects and deliver results in a complex, technical environment

A first degree in physics, electrical engineering, materials science, or a related field.

Industrial experience is essential, and you will have some familiarity with new product development, ideally working in an R&D environment or in a related area such as quality.

Strong analytical skills, interested in innovative technologies and able to articulate the benefits of innovative ideas for the NSG Group.
