SureCare Bournemouth & Poole is a new, independently owned and family-run SureCare franchise. Our goal is to build a care service that makes a genuine difference within our local community.
Although our local branch is new, SureCare has more than 30 years of experience within the care sector. We benefit from the systems, knowledge and ongoing support of an established national network while retaining the personal approach of a local family business.
We want to build a service known for compassionate, reliable and genuinely person-centred care that helps people live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes.
The opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager to join us at the beginning of our journey and help establish, register and grow the branch covering Bournemouth, Poole, Wimborne, Ferndown, Christchurch, Sandbanks and surrounding areas
This is not simply a position maintaining an established service. You will work closely with the owners, lead the CQC registration process, recruit and develop your team and help shape how the branch operates.
As the business grows, we want the successful Registered Manager to grow with us, with opportunities for increased responsibility, career development and salary progression.
The role
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management, quality, compliance and development of our domiciliary care service.
Your main focus will be establishing and delivering safe, high-quality and person-centred care. You will take a leading role in securing CQC registration and, once registration is granted, maintaining ongoing regulatory compliance and excellent care standards.
Our principal services will include personal care, medication support, companionship, meal preparation, live-in care, respite care and assistance with daily living.
While domiciliary care will remain the central focus, you will also support the operational oversight and development of our wider community services. These may include domestic assistance, shopping, transportation, cleaning (domestic/commercial), staffing solutions, and other practical services.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development and day-to-day operation of the branch
- Take a leading role in the CQC registration process
- Maintain ongoing compliance with CQC requirements and the Fundamental Standards once registered
- Recruit, onboard, supervise, develop and retain care and support staff
- Build a reliable team of office-based and field-based employees

- Manage staff scheduling and ensure clients receive reliable and well-coordinated care
- Maintain effective safeguarding, medication, mental-capacity and complaints procedures
- Ensure accurate, confidential and compliant record-keeping
- Monitor service quality through audits, feedback and continuous improvement
- Manage staff performance, supervision, appraisal and training
- Build positive relationships with clients, families, healthcare professionals, local authorities and community partners
- Manage staffing levels, budgets, invoicing, payroll information, KPIs and operational performance
- Support local marketing, business development and the growth of care hours
- Work closely with the owners and SureCare support network to develop the branch
- Help establish SureCare Bournemouth & Poole as a trusted local care provider
Essential experience and requirements
- At least three years’ experience working within domiciliary or home care
- Proven experience working as a Care Manager or Registered Manager within a regulated domiciliary care service
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, the Fundamental Standards and quality compliance
- Experience managing safeguarding concerns, complaints, mental-capacity assessments and medication incidents
- Experience recruiting, supervising, developing and retaining care staff
- Strong knowledge of care planning, risk assessment and person-centred care
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence working with KPIs, budgets and business-growth objectives
- The qualifications, competence, skills and experience needed to apply to CQC as the service’s Registered Manager
- The ability to travel reliably throughout the service area
Qualifications
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent qualification, is strongly preferred.
Applicants currently working towards an appropriate Level 5 qualification may be considered if they can otherwise demonstrate substantial care-management experience and suitability for registration with CQC.
Previous registration with CQC as a Registered Manager would be an advantage.
Salary and progression
The starting salary is £36,000–£38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
A formal salary review will take place after six months of appointment. Subject to the individual's performance, achievement of objectives and the overall growth of the branch, there will be scope for the salary to increase to £40,000 per annum.
