Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and vehicle care. Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to specified locations.
- Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery times and fuel efficiency.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, ensuring it is in safe working condition.
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate with dispatch regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety laws and regulations during transit.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or accidents promptly to management for swift resolution.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with delivery driver experience specialising in flatbed operations.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles, with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of flatbed securing techniques and cargo safety regulations.
- Strong understanding of driving laws and safety standards within the UK.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan efficient routes.
- Ability to work independently and responsibly under minimal supervision.
