Workshop Forman / Production supervisor
Apollo Joinery Ltd
Ashford, Surrey (TW15)
Full-Time | Permanent | Immediate Start
Help Lead the Future of Apollo Joinery
Apollo Joinery is entering an exciting new chapter.
Following new ownership and continued investment in our workshop, machinery, systems and people, we're looking for an experienced Workshop Foreman to help lead our manufacturing team.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to stand at the end of the workshop with a clipboard.
We're looking for a working foreman—someone who enjoys being on the tools, solving problems, supporting the team and leading by example.
You'll work closely with our Operations Director, becoming his right-hand person within the workshop and playing a key role in shaping the future of Apollo Joinery.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position combining bench joinery, workshop supervision and production management.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manufacturing high-quality bespoke commercial joinery.
- Leading, motivating and supporting the workshop team.
- Planning and allocating workloads.
- Managing jobs from production issue through to completion.
- Maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Mentoring apprentices and joiners.
- Identifying production issues before they become problems.
- Liaising with the design office and Operations Director.
- Attending production meetings.
- Carrying out occasional site surveys and meetings.
- Assisting with material planning and workshop organisation.
- Recording job progress and labour using our workshop systems.
What We're Looking For
Ideally you'll have:
- At least 10 years' experience in bespoke joinery manufacturing.
- Previous experience as a Foreman, Supervisor, Team Leader or Workshop Manager.
- Excellent bench joinery skills.
- Strong knowledge of modern woodworking machinery and manufacturing methods.
- The ability to work confidently from technical drawings.
- Experience working with MDF, MFC, laminates, veneers, solid timber and commercial fit-out joinery.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Good computer skills, including email and basic data entry.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who leads through experience, attitude and work ethic—someone the team naturally respects and wants to follow.
Why Join Apollo?
This is far more than another foreman's role.
You'll be joining Apollo during an exciting period of investment and growth, with the opportunity to influence:
- Workshop layout.
- Production methods.
- Machinery investment.
- New systems and processes.
- Staff development.
- Company culture.
You'll have a genuine opportunity to help shape the future of the business and become an important part of our leadership team.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary (depending on experience).
- Overtime opportunities.
- Company pension.
- Modern, well-equipped workshop.
- Continued investment in machinery and technology.
- Long-term career progression.
- Free on-site parking.
