Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Groomer to join our friendly and established team in a busy daycare environment. With bookings already in place, you'll be able to start immediately, supporting our existing groomer and building relationships with a loyal client base from day one. Opportunity to grow into full time hours with client demand.
We have grown to be one of the most popular and sought after grooming salons in Suffolk but now need help! With our take on animal first grooming that includes a zero crating policy, our dogs love coming to be groomed with us!
The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a keen eye for detail, ensuring each pet receives exceptional grooming services in a safe and caring environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of breeds and sizes, providing customised grooming solutions that meet both client expectations and the highest standards of animal care.
Duties
- Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs to maintain cleanliness and coat health
- Trimming nails, cleaning ears, and expressing glands as necessary
- Teeth cleaning using ultrasonic Emmi Pet tooth brushes (training available).
- Cutting and styling fur according to breed standards or customer requests
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of animals throughout the grooming process
- Maintaining a clean and organised grooming station, including sanitising tools and equipment
- Providing excellent customer service by discussing grooming preferences with clients and offering advice on pet care
- Managing appointment schedules efficiently to ensure timely service delivery
- Handling heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting larger or heavier dogs safely
Requirements
- Previous experience in veterinary care or animal grooming is highly desirable
- Appropriate grooming qualification
- Strong knowledge of animal care practices and grooming techniques
- Ability to manage time ensuring grooms are done to a high standard in a reasonable timeframe.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to handle animals gently yet confidently, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting tasks involved in handling larger breeds
- Organised with attention to detail to deliver high-quality grooming services
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their wellbeing
