Are you an experienced Service Manager looking for your next opportunity within adult social care?
Calm Futures provide specialist support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, mental health needs and complex needs. We are looking for a confident and experienced Service Manager to work alongside the Registered Manager, helping to lead our services and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the services.
- Lead and motivate staff to provide high-quality, person-centred support.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, inclusion and empowerment.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager during periods of absence.
- Support recruitment, induction, retention and development of staff.
- Promote a positive working environment that reflects the organisation's values and behaviours.
- Identify and address performance concerns appropriately and in line with company procedures.
- Support the completion of investigations, disciplinary processes and absence management where required.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.
Governance, Quality and Compliance
- Ensure the service operates in accordance with CQC regulations, organisational policies and legislative requirements.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of care, support and service delivery.
- Lead on quality assurance activities, audits and action plans.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, reported and managed appropriately.
- Monitor incidents, accidents, complaints and compliments, ensuring learning outcomes are implemented.
- Support the Registered Manager in preparing for inspections and audits.
- Ensure accurate and timely record keeping across all aspects of the service.
Person-Centred Support
- Ensure individuals are supported to exercise choice, control and independence.
- Promote positive risk-taking whilst ensuring the safety and wellbeing of individuals.
- Ensure care and support plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans and health action plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Work collaboratively with individuals, families, advocates and professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ensure support is delivered in accordance with individual needs, preferences and commissioned requirements.
Staff Development and Supervision
- Conduct staff supervisions, appraisals and competency assessments.
- Coach, mentor and support staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Monitor staff compliance with mandatory training and professional development requirements.
- Facilitate team meetings and communicate organisational updates effectively.
- Promote reflective practice and continuous improvement across the team.
Operational Management
- Support the management of staffing levels and rota planning to ensure effective deployment of resources.
- Monitor agency usage and identify opportunities to improve staffing efficiency.
- Assist in managing service budgets and financial resources.
- Oversee service user finance management systems and audits.
- Monitor medication systems and ensure safe administration practices are maintained.
- Support occupancy and referral processes, including assessments and transition planning for new individuals entering the service.
Partnership Working
- Build positive professional relationships with commissioners, social workers, healthcare professionals, regulators, families and other stakeholders.
- Participate in reviews, multidisciplinary meetings and safeguarding meetings as required.
- Represent the organisation professionally and positively at all times.

Experience
Essential
- Minimum of three years' experience supporting adults with complex needs
- Experience supporting services regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
- Experience of supervising or managing staff within a health and social care setting.
- Experience of completing audits, quality assurance and compliance activities.
- Experience working with external professionals and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of rota management and workforce planning.
- Full driving licence and own transport.

- Experience managing service resources.

Qualifications
Essential
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent).

- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or willingness to work towards.

- Flexible approach to working hours, including participation in an on-call rota.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Ability to travel between services where required.

Pay: £35,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
