Adam Bernard Solicitors is a leading law firm based in London, dedicated to providing high-quality legal services across a range of practice areas. We are now seeking a HR & operations Intern to join our team and support our busy finance function.
The Role
The Intern will support the day-to-day operations of the Accounts and Operations functions within the firm. The role will involve assisting with financial administration, maintaining accurate accounting records, supporting compliance with SRA Accounts Rules, and providing operational support to ensure the smooth running of the firm.
The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team, solicitors, and support staff, gaining exposure to legal practice operations, internal processes, and business administration.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
- Support the recruitment process, including posting job adverts, scheduling interviews, and liaising with candidates.
- Help prepare onboarding materials and support new starter induction processes.
- Assist with filing, scanning, and organising HR documentation (contracts, policies, personnel files).
- Support the coordination of training sessions and staff development activities.
- Help track holiday, absence, and other HR records as required.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times when handling sensitive employee information.
Operations Support
- Assist with general office administration and day-to-day operational tasks.
- Support the coordination of internal meetings, room bookings, and diary management.
- Help maintain internal systems, trackers, and shared files.
- Assist with ordering supplies, managing inventories, or liaising with suppliers where required.
- Provide ad hoc administrative support to other departments as needed.
- Support compliance-related tasks, ensuring adherence to office procedures and GDPR requirements.
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- A genuine interest in HR, operations, or the legal/professional services sector.
Desirable
- Currently studying or recently graduated in HR, Business, Law, or a related field.
- Previous administrative work experience (paid, voluntary, or academic placement).
- Familiarity with HR systems or databases.
