What you'll do
As a Paralegal, you'll play an important role within Peabody’s Legal Services team, supporting the delivery of a comprehensive in-house legal service to colleagues across the organisation. Working under the supervision of a Solicitor, you will be responsible for managing your own caseload of Housing Conditions claims and associated matters, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and in accordance with agreed standards.
You will provide support to Solicitors and Senior Solicitors on complex and high-value matters, assisting with legal research, drafting documents, preparing case files and managing litigation processes. The role focuses primarily on claims arising under the Housing Conditions Pre-Action Protocol, while also providing exposure to wider areas of property litigation, landlord and tenant matters, property law and land law.
In addition, you will provide legal support to internal stakeholders on both contentious and non-contentious matters, helping to deliver practical legal solutions across the business. You'll contribute positively to cross-organisational working groups and forums, support the Legal Services training programme and assist with special projects within Legal, Governance and Risk as required.
What you'll need

Experience working in a legal environment, ideally as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or similar role.

Experience managing or assisting with a caseload of litigation matters.

Knowledge of, or experience working within, Housing Conditions claims, housing litigation, landlord and tenant matters, property litigation or related areas of law.

A Law degree or equivalent qualification and relevant legal experience.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse information and identify appropriate actions.

Experience building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

A commitment to continuing professional development and developing expertise in Housing Conditions matters.

This is a hybrid role and you’ll be expected to attend the Westminster Bridge Road office a minimum of two days per week.
