Duties

- Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and educational best practices.
- Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Mentor and support students through tutoring sessions, helping them overcome challenges and build strong foundational skills in math.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, respectful learning environment conducive to academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment strategies, and extracurricular activities related to mathematics.
- Communicate clearly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and areas for growth.
- Incorporate scientific research and innovative teaching methods to enhance lesson effectiveness and student engagement.
- Support students with behavioral management techniques tailored to individual needs, fostering a respectful classroom community.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives aimed at improving educational outcomes and promoting STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) literacy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching mathematics at various levels; experience with biochemistry or laboratory work is a plus but not required.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire students of all backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills for effective instruction and parent engagement.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies suitable for diverse learners, including those requiring special education support.
- Demonstrated proficiency in math concepts along with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Experience with scientific research or laboratory experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to proofread instructional materials for accuracy and clarity.
