Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Co-ordinator (Temporary) to bring energy, creativity, and engagement to our residents. In this vital role, you will design and facilitate a variety of stimulating activities that promote social interaction, mental well-being, and overall quality of life for residents. Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and execute diverse activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care requirements
- Lead group activities such as games, arts and crafts, music sessions, and outings that foster socialization and enjoyment
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans, especially for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
- Encourage participation from all residents by creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere that promotes independence and fun
- Monitor residents’ responses to activities, adjusting plans as needed to maximize engagement and safety
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback to inform future programming
- Promote communication with families and staff about upcoming events and resident achievements
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of senior care principles, including dementia care and Alzheimer’s support strategies
- Proven ability to organize engaging activities tailored for older adults with diverse needs
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Experience working with individuals requiring specialized care such as dementia or Alzheimer’s is advantageous
- Familiarity with caregiving roles within a care home setting enhances understanding of resident needs

Pay: £13.86-£14.13 per hour
