Niche Foods Ltd is an FMCG retail supply business, operating in the world foods market.
The Food Technical Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products meet food safety, quality, legal, and customer requirements. The role involves maintaining compliance with food industry standards, managing technical documentation, supporting audits, and acting as the primary contact for technical and quality matters across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and continuously improve the company’s food safety and quality management system
- Create and maintain product specifications
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, implementing corrective and preventative actions
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, BRCGS and relevant food legislation on production sites
- Review and update risk assessments, HACCP plans, policies, and procedures
- Monitor quality performance and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Lead customer visits/audits
- Maintain traceability, allergen management, and product recall procedures
- Approve and monitor suppliers through risk assessments, questionnaires, and documentation reviews
- Support new product launches by reviewing specifications and technical documentation
- Produce technical reports and KPI data for management review meetings
- Ensure all technical records are readily available for inspection and audit purposes
- Any other works to meet the requirements of the business
Person Specification:
- Experience in a food technical position, QA in food or similar
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety legislation
- Experience managing customer and third-party audits
- Understanding of allergen management, traceability, and food labelling regulations
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities
- Bilingual in English and Hini/Gujarati would be desirable but not essential
