Are you a detail-oriented Health & Safety advocate with a background in Transport, Facilities, or Safety Operations?
We are seeking a proactive
Transport Safety Technician
to play a central role in maintaining a gold-standard safety culture across our transport operations. In this role, you will be on the front lines of risk prevention—conducting audits, inspecting site equipment, overseeing vehicle collision and personal accident investigations, and ensuring total compliance with H&S and environmental regulations.
Working directly alongside operational management teams, you will analyse incident data, lead continuous safety training, and manage critical compliance documentation (including Employee Liability Claims).
- Safety Audits:
Conduct regular inspections of transport work areas, processes, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with site H&S standards.

PUWER & PPE:
Support PUWER assessments for operational machinery, implement control measures, and ensure proper use, testing, and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collision & Incident Reviews:
Lead and support investigations into vehicle collisions, workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses.

Scoring & Reporting:
Score accident reports, analyse trends using data-driven insights, present root-cause analysis to management, and track corrective actions.
- Audit Readiness:
Maintain, periodically review, and archive safety documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure total audit preparedness.

Systems & Claims:
Coordinate site safety management systems (MAS & TMSS) and manage all Employee Liability Claims documentation in line with company procedures.
- Safety Culture:
Assist in creating and delivering safety workshops, toolboxes, and presentations to promote best practices across the network.

Emergency Response:
Help draft and maintain site emergency response plans, coordinate drills, and ensure shift teams are fully trained on emergency protocols.
- Relevant Experience:
Background in a H&S, Transport, Logistics, or Facilities administrative or technical role.

Technical & System Skills:
PC literate with strong working knowledge of
Google Suite
(Sheets, Docs, Slides) to produce reports and analyze safety metrics.

Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to advise site managers and interact with Senior Leadership.

Driving Requirement:
Holds a
Full UK Driving License
and a flexible mindset to travel across the UK Transport network when required.

Core Competencies:
Meticulous attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach.
- NEBOSH
General or National Certificate (highly desirable).

Knowledge of defensive driving frameworks or Smith System methodologies.

Prior experience with NEXT safety management systems (MAS / TMSS).

Previous team or people management experience.
- Full training on proprietary Health & Safety systems.
