Jetchem Systems Limited and Superjet are market leaders in the High-Pressure Water Jetting Industry. We cover everything from administration, engineering, parts, training, hire, service and sales and are dedicated in providing an impressive range of quality products, which is an A - Z of what is required within the drainage industry.
We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and commercially minded individual to join our business as Assistant to the Head of Group Operations.
Location: Jetchem Systems (Head Office) Ramsbottom
Hours: Full-time
Reports to: Head of Group Operations
The Role
This is not a traditional administrative assistant role.
You will work closely with the Head of Group Operations across multiple areas of the business, helping to coordinate projects, improve processes, monitor performance and ensure actions are followed through.
The successful candidate will gain exposure to how the wider group operates and will have the opportunity to develop into a broader operations management role as their experience and responsibilities grow.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Head of Group Operations with day-to-day operational priorities.
- Coordinating projects across different departments and companies within the group.
- Tracking actions, deadlines and deliverables and ensuring they are completed.
- Preparing reports, spreadsheets, KPIs and management information.
- Analysing operational performance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Helping develop and implement new procedures and systems.
- Liaising with sales, purchasing, finance, engineering, production and other departments.
- Supporting supplier and customer-related operational matters where required.
- Attending operational meetings, recording actions and following them through to completion.
- Investigating operational problems and helping develop practical solutions.
- Assisting with fleet, facilities, equipment and company asset management.
- Supporting continuous-improvement and cost-saving projects.
- Helping maintain company policies, procedures and operational documentation.
- Taking ownership of smaller projects as your experience develops.
- Providing general support to the Head of Group Operations wherever required.
Who We're Looking For
We're more interested in finding the right person with the right attitude than someone who ticks every box.
You'll ideally be:
- Extremely organised and able to manage several priorities at once.
- Confident communicating with people at all levels.
- Comfortable challenging things when they don't look right.
- Good with numbers and commercially aware.
- Confident using Excel, Microsoft 365 and business systems.
- Naturally interested in understanding how a business works.
- Practical and solutions focused.
- Able to work independently and take ownership.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment.
- Reliable, professional and discreet.
- Someone who doesn't need to be constantly told what to do next.
Experience within operations, engineering, manufacturing, construction, utilities, logistics or a technical business would be advantageous but isn't essential.
The Person we are looking for:
This position would suit someone who wants more than simply an administrative job.
We're looking for someone who can eventually become the right hand to the Head of Group Operations — someone who understands what's happening across the business, keeps projects moving and can be trusted to take responsibility.
There is significant scope for the position to develop. As your knowledge and capability increase, you'll be given greater responsibility for projects, processes and operational areas of the business.
Benefits:
- Company pension
- On-site parking
- Sick pay
