As Thalasic continues to scale, we are seeking a highly skilled Marine Procurement Specialist to drive our global sourcing operations. You will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of vessel parts, fuel, and technical services, ensuring our clients’ fleets maintain peak operational efficiency. A critical component of this role involves providing accurate and competitive quotes to vessel operators and owners, directly supporting our company's growth and reputation for value.Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for marine spares, equipment (e.g., anchors, propellers, valves), and fuel (bunkers).
- Quotation Management: Prepare and deliver detailed, competitive quotes for vessel owners and operators, leveraging our global supplier network to offer cost savings.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Negotiate pricing, terms, and service level agreements with international vendors to ensure high-quality standards.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Liaise with warehouses and shipping companies to guarantee timely, global delivery of critical components.
- Technical Advisory: Work alongside our technical consulting team to ensure all supplied parts are genuine and traceable to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in marine procurement, ideally within a ship-owning or technical management environment.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage complex supplier relationships.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with marine engineering components and offshore products (e.g., VLCC, FPSO, and Cargo Liner spares).
- Software Proficiency: Experience using maritime procurement or inventory software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP or specialized ship management tools).
- Qualifications: CIPS qualification or a degree in Supply Chain Management/Maritime Studies is preferred.
