Health & Safety Manager
About Lester Cladding North West Ltd
Lester Cladding North West Ltd is a specialist roofing, cladding, rainscreen, and building envelope contractor based in Wigan. Established for over 10 years, we have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely, efficiently, and professionally across England.
Working with a diverse range of clients across the commercial, industrial, and public sectors, we undertake projects ranging from small-scale works through to major contracts valued at several million pounds.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of health, safety, and compliance throughout our operations.
The role is based from our Wigan office, with regular travel to construction sites across England. While office attendance will be required for meetings, reporting, and compliance management, a significant proportion of the role will be site-based, ensuring the effective implementation of health and safety standards across multiple live projects.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Directors, the Health & Safety Manager will take responsibility for driving a positive safety culture throughout the business, ensuring full compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures, and industry best practice.

- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company procedures, legal requirements, and industry best practice.
- Review, prepare, implement, and continuously improve Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), COSHH Assessments, and other health and safety documentation.
- Ensure all site personnel and subcontractors are appropriately briefed, inducted, and signed onto relevant RAMS.
- Monitor site conditions, welfare facilities, material storage, plant operations, access arrangements, and general site safety standards.
- Produce detailed audit reports and present findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to senior management.
- Lead incident, accident, and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative measures.
- Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and health and safety training across the workforce.
- Manage and maintain the company's health and safety management systems and procedures.
- Oversee the company's digital health and safety platform (Inndex), ensuring inspections, certifications, training records, plant maintenance schedules, lifting equipment inspections, and LOLER compliance are effectively monitored and maintained.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant industry accreditations, certifications, and membership bodies.
- Keep abreast of legislative changes and industry developments, ensuring the business remains fully compliant.
- Provide expert advice and support to directors, managers, site teams, and subcontractors on all health and safety matters.
- Support the continuous improvement of the company's health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing standards.
