Are you looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same? Do you enjoy working both outdoors and in customers' environments, solving problems and making a real impact?
At Comex 2000, we're looking for motivated and safety-focused Cable Operatives to join our growing Pre Enablement Team. You'll play a vital role in building and maintaining telecommunications networks that keep homes, businesses and communities connected.
Whether you're an experienced operative looking for your next challenge or are passionate about delivering quality work and exceptional customer service, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Cable Operative, you'll be responsible for supporting the build and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure across our network.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
-
Building and maintaining new and existing telecommunications access networks, including Copper, HFC and FTTP networks.

-
Carrying out cable jointing activities in both internal and external locations.
-
Identifying cables and network infrastructure accurately before commencing work.
-
Completing minor reinstatement and customer garden works as required.
-
Recording risk assessments, job progress and completed activities using internal and client systems.
-
Delivering a positive customer experience through professional communication and high-quality workmanship.
-
Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a Right First Time standard.
We're looking for individuals who take pride in their work, put safety first and enjoy working as part of a team.
You'll have:
-
Practical experience working on Copper, HFC and FTTP networks.
-
NRSWA Unit 2 and PIA Accreditation.
-
The ability to identify and clear minor network blockages.
-
Experience using ladders, working at height and operating safely on poles.
-
Basic IT skills and confidence using mobile devices and applications.
-
Experience using power tools such as drills, compressors and Stihl saws.
-
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
-
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality.
-
A Full UK Driving Licence.
Although Pre Enablement PIA activities (SA001, SA002, S7 and S8) are now primarily delivered by the client, there may be occasions where support is required within the client's in-house operation.
Your work directly supports the delivery of market-leading telecommunications networks, helping to connect people, businesses and communities across the UK.
Work alongside experienced colleagues who are passionate about what they do and committed to helping each other succeed.
We believe in developing our people. You'll have access to ongoing training, development opportunities and clear career progression pathways.
