As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. This is a varied role combining the preparation of high quality tender submissions with the management and maintenance of our key industry certifications.
The Role
You will play a key role in securing new business opportunities by producing compelling, compliant bid submissions while ensuring the business maintains its industry accreditations and quality standards.
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate tender responses, manage certification audits, and ensure our management systems remain compliant with industry requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesBid Writing
● Research and identify relevant public and private sector tender opportunities.
● Prepare high-quality PQQs, SQs, ITTs, framework submissions, and proposal documents.
● Coordinate responses from internal departments and external partners.
● Write clear, persuasive, and compliant responses tailored to client requirements.
● Maintain a library of bid content, case studies, policies, and supporting documentation.
● Manage bid submission deadlines and ensure all documentation is accurate and complete.
● Review bid outcomes and implement continuous improvements.
Compliance & Certification Management
Manage and maintain the company's accreditation and certification systems, including:
● PAS 2030:2023
● PAS 2035 compliance support
● MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)
● Gas Safe Registration
Responsibilities include:
● Preparing for surveillance and certification audits.
● Maintaining documented procedures, policies, and quality records.
● Coordinating corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
● Ensuring operational teams remain compliant with certification requirements.
● Keeping up to date with industry legislation, standards, and regulatory changes.
● Acting as the main point of contact for certification bodies and external auditors.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys both writing and organisation, with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to compliance.
Essential Skills & Experience
● Previous experience writing successful bids and tender submissions.
● Experience within the retrofit, construction, renewables, or energy efficiency sector.
● Strong understanding of PAS 2030:2023 requirements.
● Experience managing MCS and/or Gas Safe compliance.
● Excellent written English and communication skills.
● Strong organisational and project management abilities.
● Ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
● High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Desirable
● Knowledge of PAS 2035.
● Experience with TrustMark requirements.
● Understanding of ECO4, GBIS, SHDF, or public sector procurement.
● Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
● APMP Bid Writing qualification or similar
