General Production Manager at The Isle of Wight Ice Cream Company
The Role
To direct ice cream manufacturing, blending quality control with operational efficiency.
The role is based primarily at The Isle of Wight Ice Cream Company. The role is also seen as managerial, however with the need to also step in to production daily (even if only for a few hours each day) to ensure smooth operation of machines, for product quality control and to monitor staff working pattern efficiency.
Specific Responsibilities
· Team Leadership - Managing factory floor staff, identifying training needs etc
· Order Management - Liaising with distributers, regarding their product requirements as well as keeping an agreed stock level at the farm. This will drive production planning on a weekly basis.
· Quality & Safety - Adhering to and auditing SASLA, H&S and EH requirements – ensuring all record keeping is up to date on a weekly basis.
· Inventory and Procurement - Manage ingredients and packaging purchasing.
· Machinery Management - Keeping a machinery management plan up to date, including servicing and general maintenance. Ensuring the site is kept tidy and up together.
Financial Responsibilities
· Ensuring Factory is outputting an agreed volume of ice cream against a set labour budget
· Fulfilling specified KPI’s. Including timescales between orders and invoicing.
· Keeping production costs under an agreed level
· Ensuring invoices are checked and procedures in place to check delivery notes, goods in and subsequent stock rotation etc
Pay: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
