Steps Support Residential are a provider of residential childcare focusing on single occupancy homes. We are looking to recruit a Residential Support Worker for night shifts in our first home based in Cowgate, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The home is a spacious and cosy property, we look after a single (solo) child in this home, providing a warm and loving environment where they can feel safe and encouraged to thrive.

The Role
We are looking to employ a team of dedicated Residential Childcare Worker for night shifts . The ideal person will provide a safe, warm and loving environment which will promote independence skills to support our children to reach their full potential, ensuring their well-being is at the forefront of everything you do.
Duties Include:
- Direct support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, education and recreational activities.
- Develop and implement care plans and risk assessments which are individualised meeting needs of each child.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure the child is at the centre of any decision making.
- Maintain accurate daily records of progress and key events: family time, daily summaries, medication, activities, achievements and rewards, key worker sessions and independence skills (List not exhaustive).
- Accompany our child/children on holidays away from the residential home.
- Escort to various locations as required for education, health, leisure and family time.
About You
If you are passionate about making a difference in the everyday lives of children who have additional needs due to LD, Autism or life experience including early life trauma and adversity, and possess the necessary skills, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding position.

The post is subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check for both adults and children, medical check, evidence of qualifications plus verification of the right to work in the UK.
