Teaching Assistant 2B with welfare duty
The Governing Body of St Leonards C of E Primary school are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, motivated and experienced teaching assistant to join our inspirational and dedicated team of staff. This role is an exciting role covering all duties as outlined in the TA 2B job description at St. Leonards CE Primary School and primarily with a child as a 1:1, with high needs. The position is term time only, part time, and if successful the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis. This position is temporary initially until 31/8/2027. There may be a potential to extend this.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who:
- Is an enthusiastic teaching assistant with a proven track record of work in a primary school setting and preferably with children / child with high needs..
- Is motivated, patient, caring and considerate committed to childrens wellbeing.
- Has excellent communication skills, is flexible and proactive in approach.
- Under the general supervision and direction of the teacher, to plan and implement learning activities for individuals and groups.
- Is able to build warm, nurturing, relationships with children and have high expectations of learning, achievement, progress and behaviour.
- Can undertake activities to support the personal, social and emotional needs of the children and with children with EHCPs.
- Is willing to engage in the wider aspects of school life.
- Will work primarily across KS2, ( although the child may not be at this level). Carry out the duties as deemed appropriate to the grade.
- Be committed to supporting the schools Christian ethos and values.

Essential Qualifications
- Grade A* - C at GCSE or O Levels/CSE in English & Maths (equivalent to A* - C GCSE) NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
Desirable Qualifications
Paediatric First Aid certificate

- Experience of working with children and ability to relate well to children
- Experience of working with children with high needs and as 1:1.
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to relate well to parents/carers
- Ability to supervise and assist pupils
- Organisational skills
Knowledge of classroom roles and responsibilities
